Direct Mail - American Express

Over the years I have found American Express personalized marketing communications to be effective and simple. The below communication was sent out when Amex experienced calls from several customers in regards to Phising scams.

It seems like the direct mail was focused on driving awareness of account security & safety. I liked the fact that the message was clear and most importantly did not have any upselling and/or cross-selling involved with it. Although, educating customers on these "self-serve" options is  economical for such large corporations - I did appreciate the fact that Amex ended up making a call to me and asking if I had a chance to review the communication and if I had any questions/concerns.

To me that was going the extra step and making it all about me and showing concern about me. I did end up signing for account alerts - which again was an easy set up and a very cool feature that Amex started.
