Run4Good

I don't think I'd ever heard of fundraising without actually giving funds. When I started running, every race I entered had about 10-12 charities raising money. The start line would be filled with various teams that had to not only complete a whole race but also raise money for its cause. I really admire those who can perform well in a race and effectively reach their fundraising goal. For me, I could only seem to focus on one item at a time. Then one day I was looking on my iphone for a running app and found Saucony's Run4Good.

Let me explain how this app inspires fundraising and is also one of the best running apps out there. First, I was thrilled that if I was going to go for a run anyways I was able to "give" to a non-profit. Saucony will double its contribution when 10k miles is reached by its community of runners. The idea behind the campaign is to fight child obesity so the very premise made me more cognizant of running and watching my weight.

Secondly, I had already spent money on buying and testing out several running apps and a lot of them just didn't work. I even bought a fancy running watch that lost track of the GPS while I was out running and it would lose my map and miles. This running app in and of itself is awesome at keeping records, tracking your pace and logging all information.

I'm not sure how far Saucony has come with their campaign but it's something that makes me excited every time I grab my iphone and head out the door (in all of my non-Saucony running gear--ouch!)
