Hubspot's Internet Marketing

HubSpot is my pick for excellent internet marketing. The company makes inbound marketing software targeted at B2B companies. The product helps companies get found online, generate leads, convert leads into sales and analyze the effectiveness of online efforts all in one place. They're all about relevant, timely marketing on a base of killer content. So...they should be pretty good at it, right?

Website: HubSpot's website is simple, easy to navigate and uses powerful visuals/video and clear messaging to quickly communicate the product's benefit. HubSpot is all about creating inbound marketing opportunities for themselves by creating quality, relevant, educational content for marketers. The site is loaded with two types of information - product details and resources. The resources far outweigh the product details. You are required to provide contact information in order to access their resources (ebooks, templates, marketing trends, etc). They get your info, you get your info. Everyone wins. By positioning themselves as experts, HubSpot is able to elegantly demonstrate how to do inbound marketing really, really well. It's a brilliant retention strategy as well. There are lots of shiny objects in the software world at a cheaper price and the same features as HubSpot. By creating and sharing useful content, HubSpot goes a step further than providing a tool...they show customers how to use it more effectively. It isn't about just the tool, it's about the strategy. Customers might easily sour on the tool if the strategy behind it is lacking. HubSpot makes sure that doesn't happen.

Social Media: HubSpot doesn't just rely on their website, but of course maintains active communities on FacebookTwitter and Google +. The company pushes out highly shareable tools and resources, not marketing messages. It regularly engages users and answers their questions quickly. Its message is consistent across platforms - HubSpot is a resource for marketers. Each resource pushes customers to a custom landing page, requiring contact information to access the piece. 


































Overall, HubSpot is an internet marketing success because the company thoughtfully and consistently uses all available tools to aid its inbound marketing strategy, which is helping potential and current clients create and execute a successful inbound marketing strategy.
