The Media is powerful enough to promote change.

Local News can improve if the local news can inform us with a larger scope in mind and promote change. For example the most recent report from Kiro 7 about the 10 dirtiest restaurants in Seattle was informative but I feel it did not really get to the problem. The 10 dirtiest restaurants report should not exist because the real problem lies with the lack of actual monitoring and enforcing food and health regulations on these restaurants.
I will most definitely avoid these restaurants but the news station should report the state department in charge of regulating them and not go ask the restaurant owners if they care cause they clearly do not especially if business is still good for them. These restaurants are some of Seattle’s most popular too.  It is a shame that news can tell us what the places are but it does not tell me how the state is going to fix the problem. It is quite obvious to see that these restaurants do not care about the report and the state department in charge of regulation does not care either. According to the report, the solution is to avoid these places. Yet people still go because the food to be frank is quite delicious, for example Seattle Deli.
I believe that if the news station put the state department in charge of regulating these places on blast, People will pay more attention and we will not have this kind of report. People listen to the news because they are informative. But the media also has the power to influence change. The News should take better advantage of it.
