Reason for a Mailbox

Most snail mail that arrives to my house goes directly into the recycling bin. Thank you Capitol One, but I don’t need another credit card!

There are the occasional bills and birthday cards, without which, I might remove my home’s mailbox altogether. Then there’s one person who sends snail mail that I keep, put on my fridge, and truly appreciate.

I bought my home almost two years ago and was over-the-moon pleased with my realtor. The excellent service by Joie Gowan has continued long after the keys were mine, too.

In addition to personally delivering a card and stylish reusable totes by Libby Green around the holidays, Joie Gowan has sent cards, such as this “Fall Home Maintenance List.” The postcard went on my fridge for the entire fall season, until each item was complete.

The checklist included a brief, friendly greeting on the back that read, “As winter nears, it’s time to prepare your home for cold weather. These steps, at least some of which homeowners can do themselves, will lower your utility bills and protect your investment.”

The “Fall Home Maintenance List” was effective for 3 main reasons:

·         It was actually useful. Not only did I read each word, but I’m keeping it for next fall.

·         The postcard had a professional and colorful appearance with a concise message.

·         I was reminded once again how lucky I was to have Joie as a realtor. There’s no question who I would call first if I decide to sell or buy another home in the future.
