BECU site on Facebook

I must confess, I do not have a lot of experience on Facebook to know about what businesses are actually doing on Facebook. However, I am a big fan (and long-time member) of the BECU, so I went to their Facebook page and found it to be very impressive. If you’ve ever gone to a BECU brick and mortar branch or have done your mobile banking through BECU, you would know they have ads everywhere and their associates are all about their members and the community they serve. I was happily surprised to find their Facebook page to be equally ‘friendly’ to all its’ members and/or potential members. They truly do put their members and community “FIRST”. I know this first had through my own interactions with them. But you can read about it in all the informational posts about what they (employees and members) are doing to support their community through member volunteer activities and promoting local businesses. They share information about what they do day-to-day for their members such as scholarship funds and financial advice forums. They even have an album about job opportunities at the BECU!

From Wikipedia: BECU has over $10.8 billion in assets and over 800,000 members, making it the largest credit union in Washington and fourth largest in the United States.  They are a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution. It was originally established in 1935 to serve Boeing employees and was previously known as Boeing Employees Credit Union. Today, anyone who lives or is related to anyone who works, owns a business, attends school or worships in Washington is eligible to join BECU, as are past and current employees of The Boeing Company, its subsidiaries or affiliates, BECU itself, and the Museum of Flight.
