My Favortie Business/Brand on Facebook

Truth be told, I did not follow any particular business or brand until very recently. It just so happens this past Tuesday I had my oil changed by KIA Motors of Kirkland and they sent me a survey to respond about that experience. After I completed the brief survey, a window popped up asking if I wanted to follow KIA Motors on a multitude of social media sites: Facebook, Twitter, and even Google. Since I frequent Facebook more often than the other two, I went ahead and checked out their Facebook page. I was pretty impressed.

The first thing I scoped was KIA's timeline, starting from when they were founded all the way to this month. History has always intrigued me, but I never imagined KIA's would be so interesting! Normally, I would not have sought after KIA's history, but each post had a nice, large photo to correspond with an easy-to-read historical headline. Not having to put in a lot of time to read an excessive amount, or do a bunch of research, helped kept my interest to view all the years of KIA's timeline. Now I know more about KIA Motors than I ever thought I would... and all in a matter of minutes! Talk about advancements! Did you know KIA started out making bicycles?! This was a complete surprise to me and I would have never stumbled on this fun fact unless I saw their Facebook page. It was also really neat to see how their vehicles evolved over the years and how much they have grown too!

Another aspect I like about KIA's Facebook page is their interaction with consumers. These interactions range from holding contests for "best video inspired by KIA" and "create your own KIA beat" to asking consumers simple questions about their KIA experiences. The best video and create a beat contests opened up an opportunity for KIA car owners to be recognized by their talents while having a chance to win a grand prize of some sort. Best part is KIA not only voted, but so did their Facebook fans, which opened up the interactions to even more people than to just those who submitted content for the contests. The random experience questions KIA posted on their homepage received mostly positive and pro-KIA responses. Reading through all the comments showed me how proud people were to not only own a KIA vehicle, but also proud to talk about them. It was uplifting to me since I feel the same way.

My own KIA (I call her Optima-Prime) has been serviced multiple times at the Kirkland facility. Other than a giant spider that nearly killed me in the lobby, each visit has been more than satisfactory and KIA always ensured that was the case. After each visit they would send me a quick satisfactory survey (no more than 1 minute to complete) in addition to having the service manager call to ask about my recent experience. Now that I have visited their Facebook page, I see KIA really wants their consumers to get involved, both on and off the social media world.
