In a world where instant-gratification is expected and social media rules, real-time marketing is becoming the way of the future. Today's society is hyper-connected. Smart-devices are abundant, and access to information is immediate. People use outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest to share stories and experiences with each other, to stay connected with each other, to stay informed. Social media provides us a medium that is constantly and instantly updating itself- it's information in real-time.
It's important that marketers realize how crucial real-time communications and actions are. Real-time marketing allows companies and brands the ability to build trust and foster relationships with consumers. It offers a forum to be able to listen and actually hear what people have to say about products and services, and to then respond to each individual piece of feedback. Real-time marketing takes communication lines and blows them wide open, allowing intstant interaction with consumers.
With a wide open forum for customer communication, the possibilities for organizations are endless. To be able to engage consumers instantly can give companies a huge advantage over competitors, as customers are likely to put more stock in a brand/company if they feel as though that brand/company actually cares about them. And when consumers feel like they are heard and recognized, they are more likely to continue to support an organization, and most importantly talk about that organization. And where will they talk about it? In this insta-World, why social media, of course.
