Hmmmm.....best business site on Facebook? This is definitely a difficult question for me to answer. Off the top of my head I would have to say none. I don't follow any company on Facebook. Should I be? Is my inability to engage with businesses preventing me from experiencing online shopping nirvana? Honestly, I think I'm too cheap and I really don't care.
With that said, I do enjoy following a good band. Do they count as a business? I love getting little posts alerting me to their impending arrival. I no longer have to read the Seattle Weekly religiously to see if my favorite bands are travelling to my favorite music venues. They tell me when and where. Now that is usually music to my ears. Except in the case of an irish band out of Portland called Amandan. Their last post to me was in fact their last post as they announced their break-up. Not the message I was hoping to find. I would have appreciated a follow-up post with something like...hey...Amadan is no longer...but follow the singer, or the guitarist, or the fiddler on Facebook. Maybe I'd be a fan of them individually with the same fervor I did when they were a collective. Lost opportunity there..as my laziness prevented me from doing any research to figure it out myself.
I do want to be able to complete this assignment though...correctly without being a stick in the mud. So now I'm travelling to the IKEA Facebook page. Looks cool, they have pictures of meatballs, which I'll fixate on now because its dinner time. Do they deliver? Better move off that site as fast as I can. How about the Chevy Volt page...a car I'm interested in. Totally lame! There's nothing. On to Telsa Motors...lots of great photos. Cool. Not really completely captivated here though...plus I am TOTALLY INSULTED by the large amount of "Find Single Dads Here"..."Single Men are Searching for You" blah blah. Like I want to be reminded of my single mom status. Maybe Facebook can pour some salted lemon juice onto my wounded ego.
OK. I'm done. I tried. Facebook is not a way for me to shop. Best business site on Facebook? I don't know. I'll just read some classmates blogs and see what they recommend.
